| Resumen: | Objetivo: Determinar la relación entre la intensidad del síndrome climatérico y la funcionalidad familiar en las mujeres atendidas en el Hospital de Ventanilla durante Enero a Febrero del 2016. Metodología: Estudio de tipo observacional, con diseño correlacional, prospectivo de corte transversal. La muestra fue de 162 mujeres que acudieron al consultorio de Preventorio de Cáncer del Hospital de Ventanilla. Se hizo uso de estadística inferencial, además se utilizó la prueba Chi-Cuadrado para hallar la relación de las variables cualitativas. Las gráficas fueron diseñadas en Microsoft Excel 2013. Resultados: En el estudio se aprecia que el 50.6 por ciento de la población encuestada estuvo en un rango de edad entre 50 - 54 años, con grado de instrucción principalmente secundaria, y de estado civil conviviente y en su mayoría se dedica a su casa. En cuanto a la funcionalidad familiar el 53.1 por ciento vive en un hogar moderadamente funcional, y solo un 21 por ciento vive en hogar funcional. Además la intensidad del Síndrome climatérico el 35.8 por ciento manifestó tener un síndrome climatérico de intensidad moderada y el 11 por ciento tiene síntomas muy molestos. Respecto a la funcionalidad familiar y la intensidad del síndrome climatérico el 44.12 por ciento de las mujeres que viven en un hogar funcional y el 40.7 por ciento de las que viven en un hogar moderadamente funcional, manifestaron un síndrome climatérico leve y moderado, respectivamente. Así mismo, se obtuvo que el 28.57 por ciento de las mujeres con un hogar disfuncional presentaron un síndrome climatérico leve, moderado y muy molesto para cada caso. Los resultados fueron estadísticamente significativos p<0.05. Conclusión: La relación entre la intensidad del síndrome climatérico y la funcionalidad familiar en las mujeres atendidas en el Hospital de Ventanilla atendidas durante los meses de Enero - Febrero del 2016, fue significativa (p=0.000). Methodology: Study of observational, correlational, prospective design of cross-section type. The sample was of 162 women who carne to the Cancer Preventorium of the Hospital's Ventanilla. Use of inferential statistics, besides Chi - square test was used to find the relationship between qualitative variables. The graphics were designed in Microsoft Excel 2013. Results: The study shows that 50.6 per cent of the population surveyed ranged in age from 50 to 54 years with degree of mainly secondary education, and law marriage and mostly dedicated to his house. As for the familiar functionality 53.1 per cent live in a moderately functional home, and only 21 per cent live in functional home. Besides the intensity of climacteric syndrome 35.8 per cent reported a climacteric syndrome moderate intensity and 11 per cent has very unpleasant symptoms. Regarding family functionality and intensity of climacteric syndrome the 44.12 per cent of women living in a functional home and 40.7 per cent of those living in a moderately functional home, they showed a slight and moderate, respectively climacteric syndrome. Also, it was found that 28.57 per cent of women with a dysfunctional home had a mild, moderate and very annoying for each case climacteric syndrome. The results were statistically significant p<0.05. Conclusions: The relationship between the intensity of the climacteric syndrome and family functioning in women treated at the Hospital of Ventanilla served during the months of January-February 2016 was significant (p = 0.000 )^ien.
