Resumen:	The objetives of the current study was to find out and describe the somatic cell count (SCC) of the milk produced om the Majes Irrigation District. Samples were collected every 15 days from each milk reception shift. The samples were taken from January to December of 2004. The average obtained was 575,009 with a standard deviation of 254,334 cells/cc) and the lowest value was obtained during June (365,142 cells/cc9 during the winter. There was a correlation of 0,662 between the rence (P<0.05) between the SCC values obtained each month and the values reported in the morning and the afternoon shift, with the afternoon's values being bigher. (AU)^ienEl objetivo de presente fue conocer y caracterizar el recuento de células somáticas (RCS) de la leche producida en la Irrigación de Majes. Se colectaron muestras quincenales de cada turno de recepción en el periodo de enero o diciembre del 2004. El valor máximo de las medidas se obtuvo en el mes de enero (786587 cell/cc) durante el verano y el valor más bajo en junio (365142 cell/cc) durante el invierno. Se obtuvo un coeficiente de correlación (r) de 0.662 entre el recuento de células somáticas y la temperatura media mensual. Asimismo, se encontraron diferencias significativas de la mañana y la tarde, siendo esta última más elevada. ^ies.
